My daughter was a 3 day labour. During my agonising pain my partner watched t.v and when dinner arrived thought they gave it to him after placing it in front of him and he ate it Having gas to help with the pain he also enjoyed it, getting high! Our daughter was finally born on september 11th 2001, after being namesless for 3 weeks i heard the name ayla and she got called Ayla Kiana. Her brother come along and was a quick labour born only half an hour after getting to the hospital. I wanted a drink of coke so my partner went to find a drink machine, got lost looking for one, during which time my water broke and he walked back in just in time to see the birth. Cause my daughter is a chatter box my son is almost three and has never been good with talking. He calls his sister Allah instead of Ayla which is actually the god the middle east prey to….Kinda funny as since she was born i joke saying she is my reincarnated terrorist. Yes…it was a sad day but for many it is a day of joy.

With my second baby, I woke my hubby up & told him water had broke he told me to sit & realax for a while. So I gave my 2 year old daughter a bath, packed her bag to go to grandmas, had my mom pick her up. I carried my bags to the car, started the car, scraped of the snow & ice. I went inside my my hubby a snack for on the way got his clothes out & woke him up. He was so upset, he kept telling me how long I was in labor with my daughter & why not labor at home for a while (had no contractions yet) So I told him I would drive myself, so he gets up & takes me to the hospital. Where the nurses still can find no contractions so my hubby tells me he is going to work to get his check & will be back, in the mean time I call him telling him I feel preasure, he tells me he will be back in 20 min. I call the nurse & sure enough my son was comming on his on no contarctions no pushing no drugs. They find some OB (not mine) and start to guide my son out as my hubby walks in the door. My son was born with his cord wrapped around his neck 7x & was purple. He stayed in NICU for 2 days prior to comming home. I am pregnant w/ our 3rd & constanly remind him of how rude he was, he will never live any of it down. My mother in law keeps telling me that if my hubby doesn’t want to take me to the hospital & stay with me this time , she will…He gets so mad!
My aunt once told me of how when she was in her twenties (this is 50 years ago), she delivered a baby in a car. The nearest town with a hospital was an hour away and a neighbor came to her and asked to be driven there. She really didn’t know her, but obliged because of the pressing need. Halfway there, the head crowned so she had to deliver on the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere between Ralls and Lubbock, Texas. Then while she is delivering the lady tells her that the hospital probably won’t take her, the baby is gonna be black (in those days, things were a lot different) and she has a rare blood disorder that could kill her and the baby.
Luckily, the lady lived and the hospital took her. My aunt said she still had stains in the car when it finally gave out.
When I was in labor with my first I was really tired and the epidural amount they gave me was too much so I was going off. I kept falling asleep between contractions and so I didn’t realize that they had taken away half of the bed to make delivery easier. I started yelling to the nurses to bring me a longer bed because I grew a foot taller. They just smiled at me and told me that I would shrink again after delivery.
My first birth lasted 26 hours from 1st contraction to the birth. I had pethadine for the pain & stayed in the shower for 14 hours. My husband said the water was too hot for him to put his feet in it, so he wore his shoes while he was rubbing my back. After our daughter Natalia was born weighing 9 pound 1 ounce, they had to take her straight to special care nursery & her humidicrib. She stayed in it for 4 days before I could hold her.
My 2nd birth lasted 6 hours 40 mins. With only 20 mins of pushing. Not enough time to give me any drugs…. Oliver was born weighing 10 pound neat….. Did I mention no drugs????? He was taken to special care as well. He stayed in his humidi crib for 3 days.
Not super interesting to some people…. but anybody who has had a baby will understand why I’m proud of my lack of drugs…. I can do anything now…. I survived the most excruciating pain known to woman!!!!!
I found out I was pregnant with my son at 26.5 weeks! had no idea!! I was in labour for 34 hours had the gas but to no help then an eppidural and when the nurses moved me up the bed it fell out. So after about half an hour I was in a lot of pain! Yelled at a few people including my partner. but he was born My partner almost fainted as he has a neddle phobia an all that blood didn’t help.
With my daughter I was 34 weeks along still had no idea even went for tests as I didn’t really feel all that good a month before we found out. The doc said the test came back negative which suited me as my son was only almost a year old. any way when i went into labour i woke at 1 am told my partner that i was in labour had a bath and watched TOP GUN. came back to see him at 5am again tried to woke him up still didn’t work. So finished my movie. and at 6 he came out to find me on the floor huddled into a fetil position and said “I thought caleb had woken!” rang my M/W who said to come in. We arrived at 7.20am and my beautiful daughter was born at 7.35 am.
i was in labor for 5 hours. i had contractions one right after another and my hubby was at work so i called my mom over to my house. everyone told me i was crazy it was just braxton hicks (i was a month away from my due date) till i demanded my mom to take me to the hospital. she took me and told me not to eat or drink nothing incase thet have to keep me. they checked me and told me i was gonna have my baby n a few hours. i called my hubby at work and started cryin. i was scared. but when it came time for me to have the baby i asked the nurse if i could leave- i was so scared. they laughed at me and told me that i wouldnt make it out the door.like 5 minutes after that i told them i had to push and i feel the baby right there they told my just to relax it was just pressure and i dont need to push yet. i asked the nurse if she would check me and she did and she started screamin the baby is coming. i pushed 4 times and my daughter was out. 5 lbs 3 oz and 17.5 inches long. we named her brooklyn marie. she is 5 months old now. everyone says i had an easy labor. i had her may 13th 2006 and i was released the next day which was mothers day- my first mothers day. i was so happy. she got to come home on mothers day with me.
