Any jerks that make jokes about Ted Kennedy’s medical condition can be found on both sides of the isle – consider the jokes we’d be subjected to if it were Dick Chaney instead of Ted Kennedy.
The key word here is “jerks” – and they aren’t specific to any particular political affiliation and you know it.
Reply – No, and I wouldn’t expect a democrat to do anything but bow to Kennedy’s alter. The reply was a simple comparison – if you don’t think that some democrats wouldn’t be spewing jokes if Dick Chaney or George Bush had this condition, you’re delusional.

    Sure.
I’m a Republican, and I have often disagreed with Sen. Kennedy’s votes on issues. However, the voters in Massachusetts have repeatedly chosen to send him to Washington, so my disagreement really doesn’t matter much.
However much I would have liked to see him retire from the Senate, any jokes about his malignant glioma are well beyond casual partisan insults and into reprehensible behavior.
The man has a serious medical condition, for Christ’s sake. If you don’t like him, fine… nobody says you have to. But joking about a brain tumor? That’s just disgusting. I don’t care whether it’s people making fun of this, or making fun of Laura Ingraham’s or Elizabeth Edwards’ breast cancer, or other people known for political commentary who have serious medical issues… people should just show some basic human decency.

It is shameful for anyone to say anything unkind. I have only heard good words spoken by Republicans.
EDIT: Liberals have trashed unabashedly Ronald Reagan on his death, Nancy Reagan on her fall, Laura Ingraham on her cancer, and Tony Snow on his cancer.
No matter who does it, it’s rude, crude, and uncultured.

I haven’t heard any jokes. I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone, and he has my sympathy. However, that doesn’t mean I have to start liking his politics, or the results of them. Every bill he creates is designed to splinter and destroy America. He betrayed our Allies in the Vietnam war and helped the communists win. Not to mention Mary Jo Kepechne. He’s 76, anyway, should he live forever? But I haven’t heard any jokes, conservatives are usually more polite than that. I do remember the ghastly celebration that liberals broke into when Jerry Falwell died. He was “fair game” I suppose, because liberals are offended by the truth. They want to change the truth to suit them, not the other way around.

i’m not a republican, but i’m going to condemn anybody regardless of political affiiation that makes jokes of any individuals in Congress medical condition.
Its inappropriate, its low, and its inhumane. Anybody can wish a person well without liking them or agreeing with them.

Tough Shite, Kennedy is a Murderer
He only had to walk 700 feet to the firehouse to get help
Instead he went to his lawyers
He is a Scumbag who has polluted the Earth for too long
On a side note, aint it a hoot that only the Democratic Party has a Ku Klux Klan Kleegle and Killer as Senators?

Teddy’s chickens have come home to roost. I hate his politics, but I wouldn’t make light of an illness just for politics, however being a drunken coward who let that girl die is only forgivable by God himself. No sympathy for a coward who would let that woman die to save his own skin.

u mean like the despicable rhetoric we heard from the left when they had a funeral of a liberal pol from Minnesota?
sure, anyone who skips out on decency in this hour of sober news is not decent and should be condemned. but do not think any party has the mantle on decency.

Not a chance. After the way leftists slandered Reagan and Tony Snow among others, when pigs fly.
Ted Kennedy was a killer. He left an innocent woman to die and didn’t bother reporting it until he was sure she was dead. What ever he gets, he has coming.

No. Sometimes it takes a long time, but, now Fat Boy as he is called in Boston, is getting everything he deserves.

Why should we? why do you care what we think?

  20. beernuts on September 24, 2009 10:54 pm

Anyone who makes jokes, like several I have seen on YA, are just fools. They are the offspring of people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and are the very reason most thinking Republicans are moving away from the far right fundies. And the neo-cons wonder why one of their cronies didn’t get the nomination. America is sick of their ilk and I am sick of reading their lies on YA.
They are the most non-Christian Christians I have ever seen.
