Make more doctors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The AMA is why the US has a "shortage" of doctors. There really is no shortage either. People get wait listed for residency positions commonly. It's also harder to get into med school now then any other time in history. They keep the number of paid positions low in order to jack up the pay rates. Nothing wrong with that I suppose but, it does tend to make it harder to treat everyone. You end up with fewer doctors and more patients and every one of those patients is supposed to get seen for their 15 minutes. That's why you always hear about residents working 72 hour shifts--because they're understaffed. At that level of sleep deprivation you have about the same driving capacity as a drunk monkey. I wouldn't want that person operating on me.

No - the size of the government is relative.
The reason why most developed countries have better healthcare than us is thier governments play an active role in making sure everyone has access to it - and that it's primary focus is to treat people - not just make profits at thier expense.
Ergot - actually the UK spends considerably less on healthcare per capita than the US when both private and public expenditure is taken into account. US healthcare is the most expensive in the world - yet still fails to deliver developed world health statistics.

have a look at the size of the economy, hte amount spent on military adventures and nuclear weapons etc in each country, compared with the amount spent on healthcare per capita of population.
In other words, it's a matter of choices. UK chooses to spend more money on health.

Your bud was pulling one on you. Those I know complain that seeing a specialists is almost unheard of, tests are pushed out for months and their 911 system is all but nonexistent.
Read this for some facts concerning our population and the number of Americans without health insurance and re-consider if HillaryCare is truly worth giving away our rights to expedient and specialized care - forever.http://www.experts-exchange.com/Other/Po…
