Er Visit For A Possible Miscarriage, Nurse Cracked Jokes…..?

This Question From Nurse Jokes | 8 Answers

about it being better to read a magazine during the exam because of the hot cover model taking my mind off of the reason for the exam. The doctor was speechless almost at her comment, I laughed it off and was not offended in the least, she was trying to make me feel better, in her own way, not the best way I know.
What would you have done or said to her or the doctor?
This was during my last pregnancy, I am not pregnant and I have not recently had a miscarriage.

I wouldn’t have been offended. She obviously is trying to make you feel better. She’s probably sick of people tip toeing around miscarriages and offering the normal “i’m sorry” She just wanted to make light of a really bad situation.
She probably witnesses so many miscarriages that she knows the only way to help someone through it is by smiling.
I’d rather someone happy rather than cold hearted.
I’m sorry you went through the miscarriage. But i’d in no way blame that nurse.

I think I would have been surprised, but not offended. She had good intentions. I actually probably would have thanked her for trying to set me at ease. I’d rather have someone acknowledge the fact that I am scared and try to make me feel better than have the people that move around quietly and act like it’s just another day at the office.

Knowing me.. I probably would have just kinda smiled.. but would have been pretty ticked on the inside. IF I said anything it probably would have been something sarcastic like, ” Unfortunately considering the situation, I don’t think drooling over a MAN is going to make feel any better. But you go ahead and take that magazine with you if you need it. “

If it was me, I probably would have laughed and forgot about it soon as it happened, do to being so nervous! She was probably just trying to calm you down a bit. I don’t think it was in mean spirit or anything.

Eeek, that would be awkward. I mean, it seems like her intentions were genuinely to make you feel better, not make you uncomfortable, so I don’t know.

I personally would have been offended. I’m there for a very serious thing, not to make jokes.
I would have told her I didn’t appreciate her joking around at that time.

I think I would have taken it in the spirit it was offered, as a kindness (no matter how badly executed it may have been).
