i’m 19 and my boyfriend is 20. He’s so gorgeous but he doesn’t see that. His friends always joke around with him saying his nose is this and his face is that, but in reality, those are things that make him so hot. Like, his bone structure is amazing and he’s got a nice body, he works out all the time, but then when we talk about certain things, he says he wants to get plastic surgery to make people stop talking about the way he looks. So how else can I encourage him that he’s great the way he his?

It’s like when bully’s say to their victims “stupid” or “retarded” or “ugly”
Bully’s say it so much to their victims that the victims start to actually believe it.
So, what you can do is say to him he is beautiful and gorgeous and absolutely amazing EVERYDAY. Then, hopefully, he’ll start to believe it.
Well there’s two things at work here. How you perceive him, and how he perceives himself.
No matter how you feel, you can’t change how he feels about himself. We are our own worst critics. I’m sure there’s some physical feature of yours that you hate to look at, or wish you can change. This is his.
On a further extreme, he might suffer from Body Dysmorphic Disorder, in which case, only therapy will be able to help him cope with his symptoms.
Love him what you can, but what he does with his body is his decision and no one else’s.
