This is very hard for me to talk about, which is why I have choosen this method of letting it out.(so please,no jokes)I have had a history of back problems since I was 15. I had severe scoliosis which was straightend out with rods and spinal fusion. Since then I have had several other surgeries mostly on my back. I am now 26, and throughout the years I have developed a habbit of taking ultram (non-narcotic pain killer but still addictive). It started just 2 a day, then 3/day and so on…I am now up to 30 a day as well as hydrocodone and valium. I am also throwing away money at an alarming rate. The more scared I get when thinking about it, the more pills I have to take. I am not some pill head druggie off the street, I am a hard working x-ray tech and student. No one knows. My biggest fear is not having any pills to take. How can I help Myself? Please. I am very scared.

Those drugs have the tendency to become very habit forming and hard to get away from. You cannot help yourself. You need to seek out help from some sort of rehab program. You are not alone. There are thousands of people who have this kind of problem. Please seek help, starting with your doctor or a counselor. Someone will help guide you through the process of getting free from the medication you are taking.
talk show host Rush Limbaugh has/had the same problem. consult a hospital’s administration office and find out about “Out patient” detoxification programs. You have a long road ahead of you but you might be able to beat this without anyone close to you finding out.

get to an NA (narcotics anonomyous) meeting. i was an active addict for 22 years and now celebrate 3 years clean. we come from all walks of life. i to am a proffesional in the medical field and functioned for many years as a using addict. this disease is chronic, progressive(as you already can see in your life) and fatal. do yourself a favor and make a meeting. they are worldwide and it really does work. i understand that it is scary. we are all scared. take a step for youself.

the drug ultram should be a controlled drug it is very abused just like hydrocodone and any of the other pain medications i see people everyday with your problem you are to young to throw your life away on drug addiction drugs can totally destroy your mind and body you need help do you go to multiple drs to receive this many drugs i am sure you have no insurance because they track this problem beause everything is sent online do they drug test you at work because they might and you may loose your job these are things you need to think of pharmacist are allowed to turn people over to narcotic agents if they think someone is abusing to many drugs this is somthing else to consider you have your whole life to look forward to get help
u must convince yrself that u do not need those drugs or pills to keep going..
