If I Save Money All My Life [[starting At 12]]..?

This Question From Veterinarian Jokes | 5 Answers

PLEASE NOTE: It’s my 12 year old sister who is doing this, I am 14.
no, this is not a joke. but my goal when i’m older is to be a veterinarian and yes, be rich. [[please don't take that the wrong way. being rich is not THAT important in life. i know.]] but the question is:
if I save my money all my life, and then I get a well paying job such as becoming a veterinarian, do you think I can make it to being quite wealthy? millions? above millions?
I want you to know, before you answer things such as “thats a silly thing to ask. you can do anything you put your mind to” or “are you crazy? your twelve. go play with your barbies” I’m wanting to do this so I can donate a pretty penny to an animal cruelty charity.
Also, I have saved up about $500 babysitting in a course of a year.
Thank you for any KIND answers.

Yes but I have to keep it serious with you, that it is may not be easy due to the unexpected expense, possible job lost, monthly expense(rent/mortgage,monthly car payments, electric, phone, cable, personal proudcts) and college loans but just make a goal then stick to it, it will happen anyway Good Luck

Then you are on the right track if this is your goal!! And good for you. YES…you will be a rich adult if you start saving money now. You can put your money into any number of safe bank accounts that earn interest. BRAVO!!! What a great idea!

  3. Medical Jokes: what?

You want to hear something surprising? it’s really not that tough to become a millionaire.
did you know that if you invest that $500 in the stock market, and get the historical average return of 10.5% per year, that it would be worth almost $100,000 by the time you reach retirement age (65 years old)?
starting to save and invest right now may just be the smartest decision you ever make.
if you just save and invest that same $500 a year until you turn 65, you’d have more than $1,000,000 – and you should definitely be able to save more than $500 a year when you’re old enough to get a real job.
as soon as you’re old enough to work, you should get a job and tell your parents that you want them to help you set up something called a Roth IRA. it’s an account where you never have to pay tax on the money that you take out when you’re old enough to retire. but they won’t let you open this kind of account until you get a real job where you would have to pay taxes (though at your age, you would never really owe taxes, anyway – but you’d still be eligible for this account because you have to file a tax return).

You will be a MULTI -MILLIONNAIRE without breaking a sweat…
There was an article recently….and if a 16 year old make approximately $3,000 every summer from 16 thru 24 years of age and took ALL that money and invested it a simple retirement account….and THEN NEVER saved again…they would have one million dollars at retirement…
Imagine what you can do if you keep saving all your life….the trick is to learn how to invest…. basic boring stuff like CD’s to high risk stock action…
At 16, your parents should help you start a CD Ladder…then you are on your way

Good going for both of you !!!!!
Yes, one day you will be well off. Rich? I am not sure. :) Depends on your ideals as you become more mature.
I have been told and will share this bit of info with you:
If a person puts $100. a month in a savings account each and every moth without fail starting when they are 19 and continuing until they are 29. That they will be a millionaire by the time they retire.
*remember* we may not have social security by the time you are old enough to collect.
I am also in favor of U S bonds – but I do not think the economy is strong enough right now.
Talk to you parents. They have good wisdom to impart to you. Also talk to your grandparents, if they are old enough, they could tell you of the depression of 1929 and what they did to recover from the economic slump the country was in.
Save, Save, Save. Also check into scolarships for you chosen profession. FastWeb.com is a site I am partial to.
    Good Luck.
    Helen
