im talking with my best guy friend on skype and he just said these words
‘hey, umm (my name), what would you say if i asked you out… im not asking you out im just wondering’
i said awkquard after like 20 secs of silence…
and he said dont worry ive asked heaps of people this lately….
he isnt friends with that many girls…..
anyway, i said i would ask him what drugs he was on (as a joke)
and in all seriousness, without every admitting it i would say yes…
hes off to dinner and will be back any min…. how do i save this????/
pls help, i dont want to say i like him cause he is my best guy friend and i dont ever want to loose that (ive told a guy i liked him and he was my bestie… two years later… still awkies between us)

i just made a joke to make it less awkies cause it was dead silent… even my dog stopped barking at that moment!!!

haha thats kinda cute but terribly awkward ! so this is my interpretation from what i have just read.
iv had those moments and the joke was a good part, but if you think about it whyyyyy would he bother asking you that if he doesn’t like you? so he probably does like you, i dont know if thats a good or bad thing in your opinion? but i think he is trying to figure out if you like him back, pretty much i call it “trying to get the green card” and by that i mean, if you replied yes, he would probably be like, yesss, i don’t have to worry about making a fool of myself if i make a move because i know that you like me enough and i wont be rejected if i were to ask you out haha. I think its a sneaky way of finding out if you do like him, but which ever answer you give, it wont ruin your friendship. and if you replied no then he will probably be like alright thats fine we can still be great mates like we are now
sooooo depending on which way you want this to go… you can either leave it at the joke which = no, like wow what are you talking about we are just besties no more, and just move on from the topic.. just dont bring it up again
or if you like him back, be like “so why did you really ask me that question?” and yeah you can move on from there
