im getting really fed up with people covering up theyre appearance and using religion as an excuse? i coulnt walk into a shop wearing a balaclava. if they come into our country shoulnt they be willing to adapt and mix with society?learn the language. I know some will take this question as racist,to those :your stupid,can you not see what they are doing to this country? free healthcare,dole money,house…what a joke? is the rest of the world seriously happy with this?

You don’t sound like a racist, just a poor ignorant person who has no clue what they’re talking about. The ‘cloth’ they wear is actually called a hijab, and they are not ‘hiding’ behind it, it is part of the religion. Would you be ok with someone telling you that you can’t do something that you believe in? It seems to me that it’s people like you that are messing up your country, not muslims.

I think we have matured beyond this tribalism haven’t we? By now we should be tolerant and happy to welcome diversity. We Brits derive from France, Denmark, Germany, Scandinavia, and many other countries and that before the last hundred years. Since then we have welcomed many other races and countrymen. For example had it not been for the Polish, we would have had a job to survive the Battle of Britain in 1940. No, we need anyone who is prepared to stand alongside us. Respecting their faith and ways is our part of being a civilised host.
This is a good point, that is always overlooked because of fears of being politically incorrect or racist. I agree with you, if they come to our country they must respect the people and social norms within our communities, if they cannot do that they should not be here. Im not at all a racist person but i just dont see why we should let these people come into our country and do what they want- well actually i do see why, its because we are scared of them and scared of what they stand for and what they will do to inforce their beliefs.
They should be made illegal because if i went to one of their countries wearing a mini skirt and platform shoes i would be arrested- tit for tat. Adolecents who wear hoddies are often not allowed in certain places due to the stigma that surrounds this clothing- so surley working with the same mentality a muslim veil would be seen by the majority of the population as a symbol of hatred and musilm extremism.

I believe there are more serious issues for me to concentrate on than what a person is wearing.
in where I live U.A.E there are thousands of British, foreign, European live here they left their county because they have better jobs and they live luxuries life and no one forcing them to follow our traditional clothes nor forcing them to take off any religious symbol…because we respect them…and respect our believes …plus if you forced Muslims to take off their scarfs then you will loose billion of pounds …it will affect your economy .As for people coming for benefits this the price for once upon a time using and abusing a huge part of the world.
I believe the veil should be banned in this Christian country, there are plenty of predominantly muslim countries where devotees can dress how they please. Let’s not forget the somali muslim scumbag that murdered unarmed WPC Sharon Beshenivsky escaped this country wearing a burqa. Muslims are not interested in integrating with Western society which they consider decadent and corrupt, their first and only loyalty is to Islam. This patriarchal, medieval cult is incompatible with the West and should be banned here.

You are right people use religion as an excuse. National dress is not law, religious or civil, it is a custom. The only thing I object to is the covering of the face. It frightens the children and horses.

The weird thing is that i actually know what you mean. My mum is indian and she wears a headscarf (one which doesn’t cover her face) and she says that it is what she believes in. I think differently because i think that if you live in a certain country, then you shouldn’t eb criticising their customs and values.
