What Do You Think Of Plastic Surgery?

This Question From Plastic Surgery Jokes | 25 Answers

I think as long as you have the money then who not get a little work done here and there as long as you dont go over board and look fake or are one of those celebrities who claim they are natural beauties at the age of 45 when really they have had lots of work done. Cause that level of vanity is not cute! I love joan rivers who jokes about her own plastic surgery and doesnt try to be fake and pretend she represents reality or the normative ideal. Over alll though, i think ppl should just try to age gracefully with out plastic surgery. Whats also really not cool is the degree that celebrities photos are photo shoped – they create such a problematic representation of beauty.

Same as what I think of tattoos, piercings, people losing weight, gaining weight, changing their body, body modifications, applying lipstick and makeup, shaving their face or cutting their hair… or even committing suicide.
It’s their own body and they are free to do what they want with it. I don’t own anyone else’s body. If you’re asking if I would consider plastic surgery, I don’t know, maybe. I’m a 36D and I know my chest is going to sag one day, sooner or later. I would get plastic surgery for it when gravity stops being merciful with me.

For a person having facial disfigurement, from say, a fire, or birth, or a severe beating, then plastic surgery is strongly recommended. Whether plastic surgery could cure the pitiful little girl born in India having two faces is something I cannot determine, but if the surgery would help that would be great.
For the celebrities and Hollywood crowd that get paid for looking better at their age then they have the prerogative to get it–as long as the money lasts.

It depends on your reasons for surgery. If you work out regularly and eat right, but there’s still some fat that won’t go away, get it lipo’d. If you’re just to lazy to work out, then no. If you have a real beak for a nose, then get it fixed, but don’t go Michael Jackson on it…you get the idea. Remember that stars get plastic surgery because their job demands it, not because the star is super vain but because the public is. I think we should be less demanding of our stars and frivolous surgery should be looked down on, even for stars.

Yeah I agree with you. I just think its a waste of time and money to spend on your appearance – like getting plastic surgery constantly every year.
I guess its alright in the sense that you have a car accident and may need a nose job or something… but other than that, if you just wanna get the surgery to enhance your appearance and get the surgery every year – thats just insane.

It’s gross. It’s physically maiming yourself because you are depressed about your appearance. If I did that with razors, they’d put me in a hospital. If I do it with scalpels and silicon I’d be “normal”.
In the vast majority of cases, plastic surgery is disgusting and unnecessary. It’s a sign of emotional sickness.

in an ideal world no one would need it, but if you do and can afford it, why not improve your looks? after all, we do the same whenever we diet or wear makeup or fashionable clothes, etc. this is just another way of feeling beautiful. I think as long as you know when to stop it’s perfectly fine and can be a big help.

  7. Medical Jokes: Alex

I would get plastic surgery if i really needed it.
I know I have lots of vanity- i guess that’s why though.
I wouldn’t want to look plastic, but I would like to look
nice- to the point where people would compliment me
    for my age.
Life is life you gotta live it!

Not my business what others choose. I would only do it to fix something that wasn’t the way it was meant to be… For example, if my body gets totally messed up due to pregnancy, I would get a boob job or tummy tuck to fix the mess.
As long as you are making an educated decision and don’t expect it to fix what it can’t (i.e., psychological problems if you have any), do what you have to do.

I think people should accept them selves for what they are, it may seem ok to alter or modify your body now, but when you grow old problem seem to arise. In my opinion people should have plastic surgeries in unfortunate occasions like when they meet with an accident etc. Just my opinion

I am really against it. I’m sorry, but I just think it’s wrong and completely unnatural. I mean most guys don’t do it, but I think it’s harder for girls to not do it, you know what I mean?

  11. Medical Jokes: your best friend

usually (not always) i think its an expression of vanity…..
unless obviosuly there is a serious deformity..which is completely understandable

  12. Medical Jokes: cougar

Well I have had some work done on my body and eyes and I think it is a confidence booster for sure. But I waited to be in my forties to do this. What I find ridiculous is teenage girls getting boob jobs.

I have no problem with people having plastic surgery. If you have earned your money honorable and wish to improve your physical appearance, then go for it.

  21. Medical Jokes: The Mad Shillelagh

I can understand it in cases whereby someone is disfigured, say a burn victim, or someone who has a cleft palate or has had a mastectomy. Such things can be traumatic to deal with. In terms of losing weight, or wanting a slightly different nose, to be honest I think it’s stupid and selfish. Every surgery comes with a significant risk of human error or complications which could result in anything from ongoing pain to disfigurement or death, and surgeries involving anaesthesia come with higher risk. I, for one, would not risk letting my intended or my mother weep over my dead or disfigured body for the sake of a bigger pair of boobs. We should wake up and care about the people who care about us.

  22. Medical Jokes: Patrioti

i did it. it has to be a personal decision, though, because you do meet people against it. most people are very supportive though. i had a boob job (nursed 4 children and it left them deflated severely) and a nose job( i needed surgery medically so i had them fix a bump in it while they were already there). many people think that people do it out of vanity, but it’s quite the opposite, relly. if someone was vain, do you think they’d spend a few thousand dollars to look better. if something affects your self esteem to the point where it affects your daily life, then plastic surgery might give you the boost of confidence you need. (i know i’ll get thumbs down for that, but…) people shouldn’t judge who have never been in that situation. it’s a nice thought that we should all be happy with how we look and what god gave us, and for the most part, i am. but every time someone came in the room, i’d turn my head forward so that they wouldn’t see my profile. now i don’t have to do that. people spend hundreds on make-up, hair color and styling, tanning- you name it- this is just a step up.

I think it’s terrible how people are so afraid to grow old now. I want my girlfriend to grow old, and have wrinkles, and sag and whatever else that natrually happens. It’s not right to have plastic surgery just because you think you don’t look enough like some woman on TV or in magazines.
I think it’s just another expression of how women are made to feel like they have to look good, have to please other people. It’s very vain, and I hate the way cosmetic surgery commercials do this whole ‘not happy with yourself? Think you’re too fat? Well there’s an answer!’ No. That’s not the answer. The answer is, get therapy, if you’re really so upset with your own body that you’d put it under the knife.
Plastic surgery for accident damage etc, car crashes though is of course acceptable and I respect the people who perform it.

I’m in support of anyone who wants it done and can pay for it. I’m a guy and I’d love to have plastic surgery. I’m sorry, but I find the idea of aging very hard to accept (and I’m 57). There is ageism in the workplace, so the folks who age naturally are now at a serious disadvantage in competing with younger workers.
It’s been proved through scientific research that pretty women and handsome men get hired sooner, get raises sooner, are more trusted, and in general are given more slack. Thus beauty isn’t only about vanity, which I think is a very small sin, but also about competition.
Liposuction can be a life saver, yet it is considered cosmetic surgery.
I’d love to have liposuction. Weight loss reduces the size but not the number of fat cells. Liposuction removes them entirely. What’s the harm in this?
As for breast augmentation, I have no problem with this either. Heck, big boobs offer more boob to play with. Unfortunately too many women believe that all men prefer big boobs. This isn’t true – in fact only a minority of men prefer big boobs, most prefer average to small.

  25. Medical Jokes: am1432

I think if someone wants to have something minor done, or if they want to do a complete overhaul of their entire face and body, that’s their choice.
Personally, I do have some things I’d like done, though I’m scared of someone not doing it exactly how I want it and never been put under so I’m not sure with my allergies that’s a great idea. Not willing to die for the changes, but if I find chemicals that are safe or can do a small dose just to test for allergies, I’m likely to have a few things done in the future.
Also, I’m a wuss for blood and pain, and two of the surgeries I wanted, I’ve had friends who did them, and the details made me gag, so there’s another reason why I wait haha =o)
I wouldn’t want to keep up heavy maintenance surgeries to avoid aging, but if I can do some things to make it a less scary transition, I definitely will. I’m ‘vain’ by some standards and don’t mind it, don’t feel I’m placing any negative amount of importance on my appearance over all.
