Why Are Democrats Trying To Demonize The Republicans When They Dont Even Need Republican Votes?

This Question From Healthcare Jokes | 21 Answers

QUESTION:

to pass Obama’s health care joke?
They claim the Republican party is planting people in town hall meetings to disrupt them. So anyone that disagrees with their bad ideas had to be put up to it by the GOP? Cmon!
This sounds exactly like James Carville & Rahm Emanuel behind the scenes throwing out distractions and misinformation to try to cover up the Democrats own short comings.

Because when it flops they don’t want ALL of the blame. Notice I said when, not if.

Democrats don’t need to demonize Satan.
Republicans have been blocking most everything that doesn’t have a solid 60 votes to end debate. This congress is on its way, already, to a record number of fillibusters.
Now, the alternative is the brilliant approach by G.W.’s group, to hand pick every member of the audience so they are already determined to be on your side. For that extra zing, make them sign a loyalty oath prior to the event – even if it isn’t defensible in a court of law. Now that… is democracy.
And if you aren’t aware of the websites run by GOP groups and health care lobbyists describing how and what to do… then you are just under-informed.

Why are Democrats trying to PANDER to idiots like you who will never vote for them or ANY of their initiatives? Seriously – a person who is attached to reality would see that Democrats, once again, are bending over backwards to not only their conservative base (cf. Blue Cross Dems) but also Republicans who have NO solution to the health care crisis. Every time this bill is discussed, it’s watered down with concessions to the insurance industry. Eventually, it’ll be so watered down as to render it functionally ineffective…. and THEN the GOP gets to blame the Dems for a situation that THEY THEMSELVES helped create!
“Demonizing” Republicans? Maybe on MSNBC, but I don’t see enough of it coming from our legislators. It’s time they realize that the majority want substantial health care, and they don’t need to please everyone to the right of Max Baucus in order to get it done.

“They claim”? It’s not a claim. People are being paid by lobbying groups and far-right groups to disrupt meetings, not to voice their opinions. The health insurance companies do not want Americans to learn about health care reform, so they are spending millions of dollars each day to defeat it. This is part of that effort.
The town hall meetings are designed for the constitutents to be able to discuss things with their representatives. These insurgent tactics are carried out by people who are not constituents and who do not have the constituents’ interests in mind. They are being bussed around by extremists.
My question is: why would you support this activity and would you like it if they disrupted your meeting that you attended in order to get your questions asked?http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con…http://thinkprogress.org/wp-content/uplo…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsrWNPMfl…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0Da8lygL…

Too many dems are starting to ask questions, and they’ll need those votes sooner than they think. There are Democrats who don’t want to destroy america and they will ultimatly be a problem. They are not all stupid, another problem. The Republicans keep stirring up questions every time they catch the dems in one lie after another. To demonize the opposition means I don’t need facts. It keeps the sheep in line. Can’t have the kool aid army stumbling into the truth. Too many loyal Democrats have smelled the smoke and won’t be at the next BO love in.

Notice how the Iranian government blames its citizens’ dissatisfaction on foreign intervention? Couldn’t possibly be that the government is repressive, no, it’s somebody else’s fault. Same thing here. The Democrats in power have an agenda, and the more threatened they feel, the more they will demonize and ridicule.

  7. Antilibe on November 27, 2009 8:48 pm

Who cares … They have been planting members of ACORN at meetings for years .. the majority is not going for this Bill .. and they are starting to show it. The democrats are playing a dangerous game

try freedomworks.com and see what they say. And no one disagrees with anyone’s right to dissent, until said dissenters obstruct others’ right to hear their congressional representative, which is what is being done.

They know there is a high chance of failure and want to lay the blame elsewhere.
This just shows and proves the non confidence they have in themselves.

these grass roots movements usually have a spokesperson from a major PR company, it doesn’t take a genius to see what is happening.

You’re right; the GOP is irrelevant. The only way a decent two-party system will continue to exist in this country is if the Libertarians step up.

  14. indy on November 28, 2009 12:38 am

good question…they don’t need to…..it is their own people blocking the bill but you surely don’t think they are going to talk bad about their own people do you

They have to blame someone for the lack of support. It could not be that it is a horrible idea.

  19. Chupate esa! on November 28, 2009 2:19 am

Sorry I didn’t know that facts was demonizing…

  20. seventim on November 28, 2009 2:56 am

Actually both parties demonize each other. But the truth is a lot of these outburst are plants in a crowd. You can refer to CNN, or the washington Post for further information on this story. But the skinny is the talk points and instructions from the RNC and certain private organizations backed by health care lobbiest have leaked to the media and the news media is putting it out there for all to see.
In truth im sure there is some real outrage out there by some people, however, this does not help the debate. If you are angry about something then voice your opinion intellegently cause yelling at a town hall will do nothing but get you removed from it.
LAstly Democrats don’t need the Repubs no not at all. But even today as reported by MSNBC in a live interview with the president and Chuck Todd, President Obama stated he still would like to work with the Repubs on this issue. So you see the Democrats are not working with Repubs cause they want to, the president has set a standard and they are trying to adhere to it.
BUT, lets not forget this is politics and no one party ever wants to make a call without the other because, if the plan or bill goes south the party on the right side of history can always say “WE DIDNT VOTE FOR THAT!” case and point “The war in Iraq” (Not saying one party made that choice just saying the ones who did’nt vote for the war have benefited greatly form that choice)
