I don’t either. I try to consider the person I am sending or forwarding e-mails to.
I have in the past hurt feelings and have learned form my mistake.
So if I know someone is going through time, has a drinking problem , or has any other issues that they might think the e-mail is directed towards them I don’t forward.

Don’t feel bad about it. If they are offended then that’s their problem. You have done nothing wrong. In fact, you did something right by being honest with them. At least you got them to stop sending you trash.
What I do is I just don’t acknowledge it at all. Then when they ask if I got something I tell them that my spam filter usually deletes all that stuff and I never see it. Then they stop sending it.

Maybe they think if you don’t like the same jokes they do, you’re not the kind of person they want to associate with. Some people are petty like that, and it shouldn’t suprise you that petty people are also selfish enough to take a polite request as an insult. If they were sending me rude or offensive emails, I’d be glad to be removed from their list.

Why do you think they are offended? They simply deleted you so that you won’t receive their mass mailings. They didn’t necessarily end the “friendship”.
We all can draw our own boundaries, you AND them. I’d not think another thing about it if I were you. Continue to contact them if you wish, or better, learn to separate Internet contacts from friends. There’s a difference sometimes.

Be yourself,buddy. You are going on the right track. They do not want to be your friends,just because they don’t deserve you.
I suggest a wiser way to reject: Delete those silly jokes out whenever you recieve it(It’s what I always do,without them knowing it).

Because they don’t like being reminded that the jokes are rude or crude. It’s ok to not want them. I’ve told several people the same thing.
If they delete you from their contacts you didn’t need them as contacts anyway.

Nobody likes to be called down on their behavior. They may feel as if you are scolding or judging them. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with your request. If the material that they are sending you offends you, then be thankful that you no longer have to view it.
