This Question From Healthcare Jokes | 19 Answers
I mean its a joke.
Its one of the richest countries in the world and they fail their own people.
But hey they can give great healthcare treatment to terrorists in Guantanamo Bay
Yes Curtis
While many Americans believe we are in one of the top countries for health care, the truth is we are not. While the United States’ healthcare is the second-most costly in the entire world, we rank a distant 37th in quality! While it may not shock you to learn that America is not the top country where health care is concerned, the fact that we are not even in the top 10 should certainly give you reason for pause
Yes Jo your right and I would leave bankrupt lol…No thanks, would rather die than make the greedy CEO’s of the health insurance companies anymore wealthy
Curtis we know thats not true, the HERO’s of 9/11 where refused care lol, yes you defo look after your own..
You have seen England?
well we rate aboue you for healthcare anyhow darling. British healthcare has its faults, who doesnt, but turning people down for operation and life saving treatments when they are dying is something we dont do.
A man in America had health insurance, got denied care because they didnt want to pay up, and he died 2 weeks later….YES you really have the best care.
Even Cuba rates higher that you.

Republicans & Corporations won’t let that happen why else they lobby to block or tweak it
They don’t have any options, and our politicians aren’t giving us any better ones.
Americans in the USA have the greatest healthcare in the world.
We do not fail our own people, anyone in America can go to any ememgercy room and get FREE treatment, even illegals and terrorists.
No one is left to dye in the street because they have no health insurance or cannot pay.
what do you call medicare and medicaid.
My healthcare is great, but then I don’t depend on the Government to pay my way.
How on the face of God’s green earth would you know about how good or bad our health care is?
Since you obviously live in a different country.
Come here and get into a life threatening accident-then tell me how bad it is.

It would be nice if you had a clue. The American Health Care Systems is the best in the world. WE do the research, we develop the drugs, we train the doctors, we give to the world. But guess what? That cost money. You have to pay for hospitals, doctors, nurses, drugs, X-ray & MRI machine. It all costs.
So we can pay for our own care, or buy insurance. We are free to work & earn the money to buy treatment & care. If we can’t afford care, we can go to charity supported groups for money or service.
Americans have big heart, we give money all the time to take care of people who need help, here in the US and abroad. No one is denied life saving health care because they can’t pay. Wake up & smell the coffee. The Health Care Reform was about POWER! The government having control over health care, gives them power of us.
I needed an MRI, I made an appointment, so I schedule it & go in. If I lived in Canada, I’d have to wait for months.
Maybe we should stop giving money to the whole world & keep the money & spend it here. Yeah that would go over well. Think of the bad things you’d say about us if we shut off the flow of money
to Africa, you know the money we spend fighting AIDS, Malaria, etc
Grow up!
Freedom to make my own medical decisions? Doesn’t sound too pathetic to me.
The Guantanamo heath-care to terrorist is under the Geneva Convention and international agreements, something only the USA abides by..having said that, the reason we “put up with our health care…” is because it beats all other systems. There are faults that can be fixed, but that is no reason to dump private health care and go with a bureaucratic one size fits all system. Under ANY government run system people will be treated like cattle based upon long waits, limited service, rationing and age appropriate surgeries (i.e.after a certain age you will be denied). Next time you go to the department of motor vehicles remember that experience will be good compared to gov-care..trust me I have seen England.
I completely agree with you.
Looks as if the message on their statue of liberty is wrong. A modern america has no time for the poor and the sick.
They actually have excellent health care systems for the insured. If your insured then you can have the latest drugs, your choice of doctors, dental care next to none. If you have a minor ailment then you will get care that is the absolute best.
However if you are uninsured then you are in trouble. You cannot see a family doctor, you have to go to hospital and pay for your drugs. Those drugs will cost at least three times more than they do in the UK, so the pressure piles on. Your poor so you don’t have insurance, you don’t have insurance so you have to pay for drugs, because you have to pay for your drugs then the inflated price of those drugs will make you poorer therefore you can’t afford insurance.
Even if you do have insurance then the insurance company can come up with a thousand spurious reasons to deny your claim. This what hits middle class Americans. It leads to people going slowly bust because they have to pay for their own drugs.
The US leads the world in drug innovation, the drug companies claim that this is because they make massive profits and the massive profits allow them to do research. However, 4/5ths of the drugs they produce are no more efficacious than the drugs they replace. The only real difference is that the new drug is still under patent and therefore cheap generic versions cannot be produced so the drug companies can charge what they like.
The UK has NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence), this is the so called “Death Panel.” NICE evaluates any new drug that comes on the market. Part of its remit is value for money, so a new drug has to be statistically proven to be better than the drug it replaces before NICE will buy it. The second part of its remit is to negotiate a fair price for those drugs. It does this very effectively, it means that for some drugs the UK pays 1/3 of the price that an American hospital does. Doesn’t bother the American hospital, they just charge it to the health insurer/desperately poor person.
If you examine the massive profits theory regarding research and development, then another interesting fact emerges. The US drug companies claim that 17% of their profits go back into R and D. Great. In the UK drug companies plow back 23%.
I know that a British style NHS will probably not work in the US, but America is a great nation that should be able to come up with a way to ensure that the sick, stupid and unfortunate get a decent level of healthcare.
Having experienced health care in the USA (my family has a house in Florida) I can say that it’s no worse than anywhere else – as long as you can pay for it. People who need emergency treatment are treated for free, but a lot of people with long-term conditions put off going to the doctor for as long as possible because they know they cannot afford treatment.
It’s not pathetic – the care you get is some of the best in the world (not THE best, as some above have claimed – people who have probably never been outside the USA) – but it does fail a significant percentage of the population. Unfortunately, no-one seems to want to really change that.
You probably have the best healthcare system in the world, but only if you have the wealth to be able to afford it, those who are on the lowest incomes might as well be living in a third world country.
Because they are lied to.
Why does no other developed nation have the US model of healthcare? Because in the US model, insurance companies use death panels to deny care to those they are meant to cover. And then they raise costs [1]. Not only does the USA spend more on healthcare than any other nation [2], it finds itself bottom of the table when it comes to preventable deaths due to treatable conditions when it comes to developed nations [3]. The sad thing is that rather than focus on these things, the right spreads lies and half truths about the reforms and how healthcare works abroad [4]. But, if you think that my points are wrong, e-mail me with proof.
They are selfish. They don’t like the idea of everyone working together for the common good. Its all “me me me” with them.
They are also brainwashed by Faux News and actually beleive that we have “death panels” in the UK and anyone over the age of 60 gets denied treatment. Oh and we all die of cancer waiting for chemo apparently.
They don’t even understand that we have private healthcare in the UK as well as NHS and that actually private healthcare in the UK is cheaper and more accessible than it is in the US due to the competition from the NHS.
American Healthcare is great for those who can afford it, useless for those who can’t.
In the UK those with cash can choose private or NHS. Those without still get the NHS. We therefore have more “choice” than they do.
Don’t forget that not only does Cuba have better healthcare than us, but even has a better literacy-rate.
But that’s besides the point, the bottom line is, this country is the biggest failure in the developed, industrialised world at providing a social safety-net for its citizens.
You lose your job, don’t have healthcare, and get cancer, then basically this society’s message to you is, die quckly.
There was a hip-hop producer, one of the greatest of all time, named J Dilla, who died of Lupus. His wife is currently in debt due to the healthcare costs, and she is getting no money from his work as the government has seized his income from his projects due to debt to the government and healthcare costs.
She is still working her job at a day-care centre living in the same Detroit suburb, pulling out social security checks for her children.
This is the American dream in all its glory. Become an estreemed hip-hop producer, but catch a rare, expensive to treat disease, and everything’s over, for you and anyone who has any ties of connections to you.
The true creed of America is
YOU ARE ALONE
What a bucket of warm spit you post
Cuba flew in doctors and equipment from Spain to care for Castor

Because as they the people don’t have the power themselves to change it they have to wear what their politicians and big insurance and medical corporations come up with. Thats so those make a lot of money off misery and couldn’t care less.
