First of all, Obama is not going to bring in universal healthcare. He wants to make insurance more available to all.
Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
Once Pay as go is in effect, he can only pay for Universal Health Care with real cuts in spending or meaningful tax increases. It is a good thing. All the spending so far is not new entitlement spending so Pay as go rules would not affect it. Pay-go rules enabled Bill Clinton to have surpluses before he left office. Without it, we would have been in debt before the President Bush as sworn in.
First, Obama isn’t talking about universal health care… that presumes a single payer, single option system. Obama is proposing an alternative to existing systems. People are free to opt in…or not.
I don’t know what that fee based system has to do with whether or not the government should adopt a pay as you go policy. I should think “conservatives” would embrace it…not gripe about it.
kicking the insurance companies out of the equation will free up so much money it will scare you.
Right now, insurance companies make more money on an office visit than does the doctor. These companies are pure parasites. The controll vast funds, but contribute nothing to health care. It’s like we pay them to take our money, how stupid are we to allow this to continue.
Nationalize health care is the will of the people, it’s what we want, and it’s what we are going to get. So deal with it.

Yes. 0bama is a joke. He wants congress to pay a law *PAYGO* to curb all tax cuts and spending but exempt his porkulus.
Obama has spent so much money already, I don’t see any universal healcare getting passed.
Clinton instituted this during his Presidency and it was slowly hacked apart by the ruling Republican congress and senate.
