This Question From X-ray Jokes | 1 Answer
I went to my community health center for my usual follow-up, as I am diabetic. The physician’s assistant (I don’t see the doctor) said it was time for me to have my blood work redone (true, as it’s been about 8 months). He mentioned that my last tests from back then had showed I was slightly anemic. That was news to me! I am, like so many, overweight, diabetic, have bad cholesterol, hypertension. Yep, the typical fat American syndrome! Anyhow, despite all of this, I can’t for the life of me figure out WHY he wanted me to go for a chest x-ray! He didn’t listen to my heart or breathing. The only thing I said was that I am tired a lot (who isn’t)? When I asked him why he wanted this done, he just said that he’s known of cases where “things” have been missed. I was looking at him with a puzzled expression on my face and was making light of it and he joked that it was also because he wanted to. I went for my blood tests today but haven’t yet gotten the x-ray done. I don’t have to pay out of my pocket as I’m on medicaid, but it still seems unnecessary to me. Why waste medicaid money?
Anyone have a clue?

Do you smoke? If so, that could be why. If not then it is just a precaution.
