California has something in the works too, I hear. It is stalled right now but the governor wants it and so do others. If we don’t get some health care reform from the federal government the states have to do it. Just like with the minimum wage. Several states made minimum wage laws with bigger minimums than the federal government and before the feds did it.
You are fortunate if all you pay is 120 a month for healthcare. I work for a small company and my health care premium is $1000 a month for two people and deductables of 10-20 dollars depending on what it is and the kind of medical facility. We are both lucky that we have health care offered by our employers at all. Millions have none at any cost.

Are you really that selfish?
Or perhaps your in the insurance or medicine business, and feel the hit directly in your wallet? Boo-fricken-hoo.
Insurers are the biggest crooks the world has ever known, millions of people have suffered at the hands of these criminals.
Do you know what it is like to die from refusal of care? Do you know what it is like to die of tooth decay because no dentist will accept your medicare?
Untill you know what the other million people of the state go through please shut it!

I don’t care if they give healthcare to the poor..I just want to the freedom to chose who I buy my insurance from and what price that I’m willing to pay for it

MN has something – ER visits were breaking the state and hospitals – it is cheaper to insure them before they fall apart and become a big liability – it is also more human – but i guess that is not the issue or question.
as long as people have the money they will always have more choices.

I have lived at one time in New Zealand where health care is free. Under their free health care system, I saw many anomalies that as an American who had proper medical Insurance back in the States, wouldn’t tolerate and wasn’t comfortable with.
Yes,everyone got somehow treated and gotten by. But when you deal with a life, that life should be given the maximum health care and not just ‘getting by’ as any government run health care would want you to have. The United States is a rich country and every citizen should let their government know that as Americans we will not be treated as second class citizens when it comes to our health.

$120 per month is irrelevant. That’s $1440 per year. You would most likely pay less than that in taxes with no deductible……not to mention health insurance doesn’t guarantee treatment.
Health insurance companies are about profits. If profits are high, they tend to be more liberal with their approvals. When profits are down they will decline covered treatments.
